The Heart Chakra
The heart chakra, also known as the Anahata, is the fourth out of the seven chakras. This chakra deals with healthy boundaries, gratitude, generosity, peace, fearlessness, and a sense of trust. It is located at the centre of the chest and is associated with love, empathy, forgiveness, and compassion. It is the heart chakra that controls unconditional love and helps to form special bonds with people. It enables an individual’s ability to love themselves and display love to others’ as well as be open to receive love, and helps mitigate and balance their emotions
The heart chakra is the bridge of spiritual aspirations. It will be your most powerful relationship tool when it comes to building auspicious relationships with others as it governs aspects such as acceptance, forgiveness and reigns unconditional love. Like other chakras, the heart chakra can be blocked or imbalanced. Let’s take a look at the effects of a blocked or imbalanced heart chakra.
Effects of A Blocked Heart Chakra
A blocked or misaligned chakra can lead to different reactions such as the inability to receive love, being easily hurt, feeling insecure, feelings of loneliness, unhappiness, broken-heartedness, and hard-heartedness. These individuals may hold on to bitterness or resentment that makes them shut down emotionally and grow apart from others. The blockage may also result in anxiety or depression as the individual has blocked themselves from receiving the same reciprocal love that they desire or yearn for from another. A blocked or imbalanced heart chakra is also an indication that there is a presence of lack of self love as individuals with this type of blockage or imbalance often commit acts of self betrayal or self rejection.
A blocked or imbalanced heart chakra is often associated with conditions such as chest pains, heart palpitations, high or low blood pressure, circulatory problems, asthma, skin conditions, the feeling of isolation, dysfunctional relationships, or even a heart attack. It’s also often characterized by;
Balancing the Heart Chakra
There are multiple methods one can partake in to begin healing the heart space including but not limited to meditation, building connections with nature, aromatherapy, herbal remedies, reiki healing, shiatsu, yoga and other massage therapies, which are all an effective way to clear blockages.
Yoga poses such as the cat, camel or sphinx pose helps one to take in positive energy and open up their heart chakra. Traditional remedies such as fresh herbs have excellent health benefits and this is one of them. Use thyme, rosemary, parsley, or oregano to begin healing the energetic center of the heart. Connect with the environment and the greenness that surrounds it. Take up activities such as biking or gardening. These are great ways to connect with nature and ground your higher dimensional energies and remove blockages. For those who love aesthetics, lavender oils, rose oils, and ylang ylang are great heart chakra openers.
Don’t allow your past loss, regrets or resentments to dismantle the flow of your love. Take a repose and indulge in several forms of healing to transform your weakened perceptions of love due to past hurts and become open to receive an unconditional everlasting love. Let healing the heart be the beginning of a beautiful new start, and remember that healing isn’t something that transpires overnight. We are constantly healing the same way we are constantly growing and evolving into better incandescent imperfect immortal beings.
